Dear Reverend Mick HOUGH

Surrey Police has a confident and modern workforce and is continuing to invest in community policing posts. Three new PCSOs have recently joined the Banstead Safer Neighbourhood Team to ensure that each area has its own dedicated full time neighbourhood Police Community Support Officer in place.

Surrey Police is fully aware that officers and PCSOs build links with the community they work with and it can be unsettling when movements are made within a local team which is why we do not move staff around the borough lightly, nor do we make changes to the number of officers deployed to a particular area without much thought, research and liaison with the staff themselves. In order to continue to improve customer satisfaction we need to get the balance right of neighbourhood officers in the borough of Reigate and Banstead.

From now on there will be three full time and one part time Neighbourhood Specialist Officers supported by eight Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) in the northern area of the borough, all of whom have excellent local knowledge through their previous active policing of the area. It is important to note the changes will have no impact on the level of service provided to the public by Reigate and Banstead Safer Neighbourhood Team, who will continue to be based locally. The officers on each area are as follows:

Banstead, Chipstead, Nork and Woodmansterne
PCs Kamran Yaqub and PC Sue Roe continue as the local constables responsible for the above areas (PC Yaqub has particular responsibility for Chipstead, Nork and Woodmansterne, with Sue Roe working in Banstead).
Nork has a dedicated PCSO Jeremy (Jez) Haycox
Banstead retains PCSO Jackie Phillips
Chipstead and Woodmansterne now has a full time dedicated PCSO Laura Johnson

Kingswood, Lower Kingswood, Tadworth, Hooley and Netherne
PC Ed Ferris continues to be the Neighbourhood Officer for this area.
PCSO Maureen (Mo) Langley covers the Hooley, Netherne and Lower Kingswood area
PCSO Laura Nolan covers the Kingswood, Walton and Tadworth areas

Burgh Heath, Tadworth estate and Tattenhams
PC Jim Dawborn continues as the NSO for the area
PCSO Simon Watson continues as the PCSO for the Preston Estate
PCSO Andy Bridgman is now the PCSO for Burgh Heath and Tattenham
PCSO Amy Ord is now an additional member of staff for the Preston Estate and Tattenhams area.

All Reigate and Banstead Neighbourhood Team staff will continue to proactively engage with communities about ongoing issues and concerns and work hard to tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour.

Kind regards
Charlotte Rimmer
Neighbourhood Inspector Reigate and Banstead Borough

ALERT

Can you please circulate the details of the crime to the members of your Watch if
you think it will be of value.

We have had three incidences reported over the past two weeks around Manor
Way and Chipstead Way, two of which occurred on 29th April 2010 between 1743
and 1830. The incidents involved a white transit van, no markings, with diagonal
aluminous chevrons displayed on the rear doors. The two occupants of the vehicle
have been throwing eggs at pedestrians causing physical injury. There is very little
information other than the driver is a white male with brown hair. The vehicle was
last seen yesterday at approximately 1730 driving up Chipstead Way
toward Woodmansterne Street.

Any information relating to these incidences should be reported immediately to
Surrey Police
on 0845125 2222.
